Combined Heat and Power (CHP) / Cogeneration

CHP is the conversion of a single fuel source into two or more useful energy streams, typically electricity and heat.

The steam or hot water generated can be used for heating, air conditioning, domestic hot water and other process requirements. The economics of electricity generation system improve if there is a market for this recovered energy.
The net results are increased fuel efficiency and less greenhouse gas emissions.

Leadership Position

Since 1990s, Dalkia has developed a leadership position in Europe for CHP design, installation, operation and management. As a result, Dalkia's industrial, institutional and commercial customers benefit from:

  • Cogeneration plant reliability and performance, backed by Dalkia's guaranteed performance
  • Optimized heat supply, backed by Dalkia's primary energy purchasing and technical management skills
  • Optimal energy supply and maximum energy cost reduction, backed by Dalkia's ability to optimize usage and export excess power to the electrical grid

Today, about half of Dalkia's district heating networks features CHP, in order to increase the efficiency of the overall system.

Custom Solutions

Dalkia proposes complete one-stop solutions for various Energy Management schemes including CHP. Customer centric solutions are developed to address the challenges faced by many businesses and capture the opportunities created in some energy markets.

Dalkia designs, finances, builds, owns, operates and maintains the CHP infrastructure and peripheral systems and incorporates the most advanced technologies, cost efficient energy sources and world-class best operating procedures and staff.
